Asda launches new hot meal deal

Asda has just launched a dedicated hot meal deal, priced at £4 and including a main, a dip and a side.

What we like about this is how it plays to providing solutions for shoppers, not least in how it offers an array of time of day relevant solutions within the hot food offer. And of course the £4 price point is simple to understand and attractive.

Across the market as a whole, this is a fascinating time in the evolution of food-to-go and in how different meal deal mechanics are being adopted by a range of operators - Pret's Pick Your Pair deal is just one recent example of this.


Asda has introduced hot food to its meal deal offering,  available at the retailers’ rotisserie counters at participating stores nationwide.

This move is designed to offer customers a convenient and affordable alternative when on the move, and the deal includes a main, side and dip for £4.

The offer includes a wide range of breakfast and lunchtime dishes available to mix and match.

The launch is the first time Asda has introduced a meal deal centred around its hot food to go and rotisserie offering which builds on the success of its existing meal deals.

Stephanie Ashby, buying manager of rotis & food services at Asda said: “We know our customers are looking for convenient meal options that don’t compromise on taste or value, which is why we’re delighted to introduce our new £4 Hot Food To Go Meal Deal.

“From freshly made breakfast baps to pizza slices, spicy chicken fillets and crispy fries, there’s something for everyone to enjoy for breakfast, lunch and beyond. It’s a great-value option for shoppers looking for a hot meal on the move.”

Shoppers can choose between 17 mains, five sides and eight dips and create a hot meal which is tailored to their taste.

Some of the breakfast options include the Asda sausage bap and sausage & bacon bap for £2 and £2.90, respectively.

The supermarket retailer is also offering sides including Hash Browns and Skin On Fries alongside dips including Buffalo, Garlic & Herb and Piri Piri.

Bakery’s growing role in food-to-go
