Costa launches new bakery items for summer 2023
Costa Coffee has unveiled a new menu for summer, including pizzetta, blondies, and muffins.
The chain will launch a total 15 new products in stores nationwide from 4 May, as well as delivery apps Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
On the savoury side, Costa has introduced two Italian-style pizzettas (rsp £4.50) created with hand-stretched, stone-baked flatbread. The Caramelised Red Onion & Mature Cheddar Pizzetta features balsamic caramelised red onion, mature cheddar and a sprinkle of parsley. The Grilled Pepper, Mozzarella & Pesto Pizzetta has grilled red and yellow peppers with mozzarella, basil pesto and a sprinkle of parsley.
Meanwhile, there are four new sweet treats on Costa’s summer menu.
The Eton Mess Blondie (rsp £2.50) is a twist on the classic British dessert. It comprises a white chocolate blondie with a sharp strawberry sauce, topped with cream icing and finished with meringue chunks and freeze-dried strawberry pieces.
Also taking inspiration from classic treats is the Neapolitan Muffin (rsp £2.50) which consists of chocolate and vanilla sponge, injected with a strawberry sauce, topped with chocolate icing and finished with sugar sprinkles.
The Salted Caramel Popcorn Brownie (rsp £2.50), meanwhile, is topped with white chocolate and caramel coated popcorn, crisped rice and drizzled with more white chocolate.
There is also the Belgian Chocolate Chunk Cookie (rsp £2.25), a chewy cookie with Belgian milk chocolate chunks, which can be served warm.
“We’re thrilled to unveil our tasty new summer menu,” said Naomi Matthews, Costa Coffee’s UK & Ireland food and beverage commercial director. “It’s our largest and most refreshing menu launch ever, with new food and drink products available to make all your favourite summer moments just that little bit better.”
To help celebrate the upcoming coronation of King Charles III, Costa also recently unveiled a limited-edition Coronation Chicken Toastie.
