The two companies are partnering for the ‘Costa Coffee Now Serving M&S Food’ experience
M&S Food is partnering with Costa Coffee to sell its food in the high street coffee chain’s franchise stores from next year.
The deal will see more than 30 M&S food products, from hot meal boxes to children’s food and its classic sandwiches, become available in more than 2,500 Costa Coffee stores across the UK .
“M&S Food is famous for great quality food on the go at fantastic value,” said M&S COO Stuart Machin.
“This collaboration gives many more customers the opportunity to enjoy our wide range of delicious sandwiches, salads and snacks in over 2,500 locations across the UK.”
He added that the partnership supported M&S Food’s larger strategy of making the brand “more relevant, more often for families” – helping to expand the retailer’s food range reach to further neighbourhood locations, high streets and retail parks.
Costa Coffee UK & Ireland managing director, Neil Lake, said: “This collaboration with M&S Food will build on our existing food range and help us fulfil our ambition to become the first choice for customers buying food and coffee on the go.
“We’ll use our joint expertise to develop a food experience of the highest quality, freshness and value – all served with a perfectly crafted Costa coffee.”
The full list of products included in the ‘Costa Coffee Now Serving M&S Food’ experience will be released ahead of the full launch next year, but the upscale grocer said customers can also expect “innovative products” from its Plant Kitchen and Made Without brands.
The move comes as the group carries on with its food transformation strategy, which has seen M&S shift its focus to opening larger full-line stores to accommodate its expanding food range.
M&S’s latest half-year results showed sales of its food business jumped 10.4%, helping to lift the company back into the black.
